Join us for Yoga Book Club!
This discussion-based group fosters spiritual growth and inquiry as we explore transformational books on yoga, meditation, spirituality, philosophy, and everything in between.
This month, we’ll be reading Altered Traits by Daniel Goleman and Richard Davidson. This fascinating and accessible book explores the science of meditation and long-term practice, inviting us to look beyond short-term “states” and into the lasting traits that contemplative practices can cultivate—such as compassion, resilience, presence, and well-being. Together, we’ll reflect on how these insights relate to our personal practices and how we show up both on and off the mat.
Since last month’s meeting was canceled due to snow, we’ll also briefly touch on I Heard the Owl Call My Name by Margaret Craven, weaving in reflections on its themes of impermanence, humility, community, and deep listening as they naturally connect to our discussion.
Our intention is to come together to reflect, grow, and cultivate community. There are no rules, no quizzes, and no judgments—and it’s always okay if you didn’t finish the book! The books are simply a launching pad for meaningful conversation and connection.
We decide as a group what to read next, so suggestions are always welcome and encouraged.
Hope to see you soon — happy reading! 📖✨
