KIRTAN with GIRISH (ft. The OMies) at The Sanctuary

Start Date: June 18, 2026 @ 06:00 PM
Pricing: $30

Join us for an outdoor kirtan concert at The Sanctuary in East Haddam, headlined by world-renowned kirtan artist and former Hindu monk, Girish. The OMies will kick the night off with mantra chanting at 6pm. Girish, an accomplished musician of many genres, former monk infused in spiritual practice, loving wordsmith linking lyrics and rhythm in a blissful musical event, sings traditional Sanskrit mantras with a modern, funky, yet deeply devotional twist.

Accompanied by his amazing band, Girish invites his audience to participate by singing along, call and response chanting, and dancing. Girish has been recommended by “The Guardian,” “O, The Oprah Magazine,” “Yoga Journal,” “Spirituality and Health Magazine,” and more. Girish’s original music catalog of seven albums is popular in yoga studios and music festivals all over the world, and his book, “Music and Mantras” (Atria/Enliven/Simon and Schuster) continues his work to teach the art of meditation through music, to the world.

Kirtan is a form of devotional chanting/singing and musical meditation rooted in the yogic spiritual traditions. Derived from the Sanskrit word for “to narrate, recite, or praise,” it involves a call-and-response format where musicians and audiences sing out prayers to the universe. No experience is necessary to attend.

Tickets are $30 when booked in advance, or $35 at the door.
