Community Kirtan with The Omies in Old Black Point

Start Date: July 2, 2026 @ 05:00 PM
Pricing: Free

Join The Omies (Justine, Megan, Kevin, and Becca) for a heart-opening kirtan overlooking the Long Island Sound in Old Black Point! Kirtan is a form of devotional chanting/singing and musical meditation rooted in the yogic spiritual traditions. Derived from the Sanskrit word for “to narrate, recite, or praise,” it involves a call-and-response format where musicians and audiences sing out prayers to the universe. No experience is necessary to attend!
This event is offered free or by donation as a community celebration! Any donations received will be split between the musicians and The Ocean Cleanup non-profit. https://fund.theoceancleanup.com/ To book for free, use the “pay later” option (you won’t be charged later), or use the sliding scale to make a donation.
This kirtan is hosted at a private residence in Old Black Point, under a willow tree looking out over the sea. We’ll email the address 24 hours before the event begins. Plan to carpool with friends to save space, and bring a picnic blanket or cushion to sit on.
